History of pharmacy in Edinburgh Skrevet 21 Jul 2007 av Nina
37th International Congress for the History of Pharmacy was held in Edinburgh 22nd – 25th June 2005.
In her opening words, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, The Rt Hon Lesley Hinds, representing the British Queen, asked us in her charmingly direct, Scottish way, to leave as much of our money as possible in Edinburgh.
As Norwegians and good neighbours of the Scots, we followed her advice.
The congress became a great experience for both active participants and companions, all together about 300 persons.
We had the choice among some 80 different lectures held in different languages of which English was predominant.
This year the Norwegian group consisted of 11 persons. Six of the delegates gave their lectures. GOOD WORK !
Our hosts had done a wonderful job with the arrangements, professionally and socially.
We send our compliments to Edinburgh, to our hosts, especially to the always energetic and including dr. Peter Worling and his charming wife.
Peter Worling, always surrounded by an aura of warmth and hospitality, either as a lecturer, the host of the great gala dinner or as a skilful fiddler in the Scottish Music Group Band.
Thank you very much for wonderful days !
We already look forward to seeing you all again in Seville 2007.
